ogilethorpe: Coheed and Cambria...

Genre: Experimental soft rock

Band Name: Coheed and Cambria

Album Title: In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth

Favorite Song: Not possible to have one with them, you either like the entire album, or they aren't going to work out for you.

What I think: Just gonna skip right to the point here. Not too sure if they have a webpage or not. Basically if you get into this album, there are going to be three more that will involve you. It's a concept album that is taking place over four albums. It's the story of this couple, Coheed, and his wife Cambria. The album that is out now is the 2nd part. It tells this story of the pair killing their children in order to prevent something. The real reasons behind it is currently unknown, and won't be known until the last album. Which is in fact going to be the first part of the story. There's a lot more to it. It's rather involving. If you ever got into Pink Floyd or Rush, this would definately be up your alley. Also if you dig the Mars Volta, cause the have a very Mars Volta sound to them. Apparently there are going to be comic books out that go along with the albums. I dunno when that will be though.

.:What I think: he was doing a tour stateside, roughly four years ago and he came right when i reached my pinnacle of IDM listening. this Pole was absolutely amazing. deeply influenced by Richard D. James (of Aphex Twin fame), and Kraftwerk, he rocked the small venue. basically, if you can put up with Aphex Twin and The Flashbulb, Bogdan is your man.

.:What I think: First time I heard this, I couldn't figure out where to put them. They have been around for something like 13 years, have nine albums, of which only 2 have been mass produced. Good luck finding the first, "Drake Equation." Been hunting it for about a year now. "Fermi Paradox," is a great album. What's really cool about these guys, is their live show is phenominal. I wasn't expecting it to be as good a show as it was. If yer into anything punkish or ska-ish, you'd definately like these guys. They need the support so check em out.

.:Genre: pure rocking out rock and roll (no genre can do this band justice)
.:Band Name: Coheed and Cambria
.:Favorite Song: Delirium Trigger, Three Evils, The Crowing, Neverender, God Send Conspirator
.:Band Homepage: www.coheedandcambria.com
.:Legal MP3 Downloads: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/466/coheed_and_cambria_ny.html
.:What I think: well, to be honest, it took a little bit for me to get into them. the vocals are different: they are higher than normal vocals - think of Geddy lee of Rush. but after that first listen and finding out that the lyrics are all part of a graphic novel quadology, i was/am addicted.

also, if anybody is in the Chicago area, december 12th @ House of Blues 6:15, i'll be there to see Coheed and Cambria, and Three rock out

.:What I think: These guys are so fkn AMAZING live. Seriously the best live band (just a step above Andrew WK) Ive had the pleasure to see and be vibrated by. At their last show held at Chicago's House of Blues Kenny jumped from the 2nd story, down to the stage, rolled, and kept on playing the song. He falls down a lot and i love that. They are energy.
